Lot 1: Michèle Jaffé-Pearce: 'River of Light'

In Jewish mysticism the river represents the spiritual dimension of nature that unites all creation. The river's flow and currents are a metaphor for our consciousness, which also ebbs and flows. ‘River of Light' is about water flowing through rock, its hidden forces shaping the landscape, giving rise to feelings of awe, combined with a sense of the miraculous at the world about us.

Oil on canvas, 50cm x 40cm x 4cm, framed
 (Art Market Value £1,400)
Current Bid: £600 (Reserve)

Lot 2: Yaïr Meshoulam:  ’The Hidden Meaning of the Torah'

From the Zohar Kabbalah Series ‘Diagrams of Splendour’ previously exhibited at Ben Uri Gallery, Dean Street and The British Council, Berlin.
On the reverse of the panel, Yaïr has written by hand the Gershon Sholem translation of the relevant chapter.
The unfurled scroll of The Torah is shrouded within the porthole of the initial surface reading.
Underlying meanings are brought to light by the play between interpretations and the original text, like the body underneath its garments.

Oil on Panel, 39.4cm x 47.5cm, framed.
(Art Market Value £1,600)
Current Bid: £600 (Reserve)
