Erev Tisha Ba'av Potluck and Service

Saturday, 2 August, 2025 8 Av 5785

8:00 PM - 10:30 PMFirst Floor Library / Terrace

Tisha B'Av is an annual day of mourning, where we reflect on some of the tragic events in Jewish history, and look forward to a more hopeful future.

On Saturday 2nd August, join us for an evening of prayer and song, with a potluck dinner on the terrace from 8:00pm, followed by a service with a full reading of Megillat Eichah (the Book of Lamentations) and some traditional kinot. The service will begin at 9:30pm and we will conclude the evening at 10:30pm.

For further information about this special event, or if you are interested in reading part of Eichah, please email Yael

This is a family style dinner, so don't feel pressured to create something spectacular. You can cook your dish at home or even buy something on the way. We normally say your dish should be big enough for 6-8 people, to make sure we have a good spread.

Let Louise know if you would like to talk anything through, before Thursday 31st July, and she will be happy to help. In the confirmation email there will also be some guidelines to help.

Please do let us know which way you would like to contribute below:

Please ensure your dish does not contain nuts and is Vegetarian or Fish (No Poultry, Shellfish or Meat allowed)
On the day we'll ask everyone to fill out a card for their dish with allergens.

We will be processing your information in line with our privacy notice, which is available on our website or from our office.
