Mindfulness for MHAS

Friday, 22 January, 2021 9 Sh'vat 5781

5:00 PM - 6:00 PMZoom

Join Shelly  Kielar for a Mindfulness session at 5:00pm-6:00pm, on Friday 22nd January, for a chance to focus on yourself and recharge, before the Shabbat Evening Service.

Shelly will take us through some simple exercises (please bring a raisin) and also talk about the importance of Mindfulness, where it comes from, both from a cultural but also scientific view, and finally share some pitfalls and advice. The session will finish with a Q&A.

Shelly Annapurna Kielar is a certified 500hr Integral® Heart Rest® and Mahakala® yoga teacher, registered craniosacral and massage therapist, meditation and nutritional wellness life coach. In her spare time, she has put her UChicago MBA to use as a trustee for the Special Yoga Foundation, an organisation that brings yoga to children and adults with disabilities, and Cool Globes, a public art installation raising awareness on solutions to climate change.

This is part of our Mental Health Awarenss Shabbat programming. Mental Health Awareness Shabbat falls annually on Shabbat “Bo”, which this year is on 22nd-23rd January. During this week we put extra focus on mental health and wellbeing and to raise awareness of mental illness - something that is even more important this year!
