Analysing Torah for Personal Meaning short course

Saturday, 7 March, 2020 11 Adar 5780

12:45 PM - 2:15 PM

We are proud to offer a special opportunity for people who want to develop their skills as interpreters of Torah. Our most sacred text is full of challenges, ambiguities, provocations – and inspiration! In these sessions we will reinforce replicable ways of reading to derive personal and relevant meaning. We will read closely, bringing our questions to the text, and we will build a toolkit to derive moving responses. We will always focus on next week’s Torah portion to get you ready for the week. For this course, we will therefore focus on three of the last sections of the book of Exodus (Shemot) also building over the course a finer understanding of the whole book. The sessions are on Saturdays 29th February, 7th March and 14th March. and are also a great opportunity to enjoy Shabbat lunch together!

This short Lunch & Learn course is for you if you can attend two or three of the sessions and want to access Torah without relying on the Rabbi’s sermon. We are looking to limit the number of learners for these popular sessions to allow for deeper, sustained interaction and study. We ask that you commit to at least two out of the three sessions in order to confirm your place. Book in below and by clicking on the other two dates above, or send an email to our events team to book in for two or three sessions in one go.
