On Tuesday 30th November, we held the synagogue's first ever LGBTQ+ and Allies mixer as part of the Festival of Lights!
We were thrilled with how amazing it was to see so many members of the community and allies join us for our first event. We gathered together to light the Chanukiah before sharing a meal together, discussing what we would want from our LGBTQ+ space and took part in a fabulous quiz.
One main message we all took away from the evening was that this was not just a fun event, but the start of a new chapter in our community. Those who attended expressed their interest in many more events in 2022: Dinners, Torah Study, Theatre Trips, Movie Nights, Exploring Jewish Text through a Queer Lens and more.
