Oneg Shabbat

Saturday, 16 October, 2021 10 Cheshvan 5782

12:45 PM - 2:15 PM

Once a month we come together as a community to dive and explore a chosen topic over a delicious lunch. They are held from 12:45-2:15pm after the Shabbat Morning Service.

On Saturday 16th October, we will be looking at The Body in Prayer: how do we bring our full selves to Tefillah?

Prayer is an embodied experience. From the chassidim who do somersaults to the choreography of a modern service, prayer uses the full body. We will explore the connection of prayer to our bodies, and raise challenges around stories of God praying in connection to our own movement. We will also look at alternative forms of prayer, and how we might learn from them in relation to Westminster services, without altering the service itself. This is the first part in a series of Oneg learnings on prayer.

We can no longer allow members to bring their own food, however if you would like to make a small donation to support the lunch, you can do so below.

Sorry, Registration has ended.
